Dante's Enduro

Based mostly (but not entirely) on Dante's Inferno

This Enduro is based largely on Dante's Inferno, with little bits from the Purgatorio and Paradiso. What bits? No way we're telling. Don't worry, though; if you're familiar with the Inferno, you'll have most of the moxy you need to crack the puzzles, play in character (if that's what floats your boat) and win the day.

Dante Alighieri. I dare you to even TRY to tell me
that's not in your top ten list of coolest hats ever.

Schedule

The head Marshal will announce teams at 10:00 AM. The first teams will go out by 11 AM. All teams will be on the course by Noon. The autocrats think it should take no more than 4 hours to complete the quest, so the assumption is that teams will begin to finish by 5:00 PM.
Dinner will be available at 6:00.

Something for Everyone

As before, there will be something for everyone to do. Are you a fencer? Your team will need you. Fighter? Good! Teams without fighters will have to think on their feet. Archer? Great! When trouble is charging in from a distance, you're the one who will save the day.

None of these? Excellent. The teams need you most of all. You are the ones who are allowed to carry quest gear. You are the ones who are allowed to submit puzzles for solving, and only your words will be audible to the Denizens of the Circles in which you are traveling.

This year, there will even be a challenge for the smart Shopper. Yes. Truly something for everyone.

Be ready to walk. At altitude.

The site is at 9000 feet above sea level. It is densely wooded, and the paths to the fun and danger you will encounter are long and twisty. Your poet guide will know the secrets to following the paths, and woe be unto the weary soul who strays too far or takes a shortcut!

Now with 40% less Inferno

The site will once again be the glorious, densely wooded Pickle Gulch campground. Interestingly, the long walk that was described as "The Hell March" will not be a multi-trip circuit this year; teams will walk each loop only once, for good or for ill. We are aware of the irony of this.
